Stress coping

Stress coping techniques aim to modify any aspects of the triple response (psycho-physiological, cognitive, and behavioural) generated by the organism when facing stress.

Mindfulness and Mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR) are proven to be a valuable tool in stress reduction.

Enhancing sleep quality leads to enhanced stress coping. Sleep and stress are bidirectionally linked.

In the Sleep and Stress management workshop, as well in the Seminars, the core principles of stress and sleep based on the latest scientific knowledge are explained. Participants learn about mindfulness, other stress coping techniques, relaxation and how to actively use them for sleep and stress management.

The Stress Response

Stress is mainly generated by three different brain-body systems

  1. via the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal axis (the HPA axis)
  2. via the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS)
  3. via a Hypocretin mediated pathway

These mechanisms are detailed in the Stress Workshop and Seminar.
